How the day runs

1. 14:00Doors open & check-inYour name is enough. Children please check in together with their accompanying adult.
2. ·Welcome & rules briefingThe rules that matter, in five minutes — after that they are settled.
3. ·Round 1Tables of four. The best go up into the next round.
4. ·Round 2Freshly mixed tables, same principle.
5. ·BreakTime for cake and plotting revenge.
6. ·Further roundsHow many there are depends on how many people play.
7. ·FinalFour people at the final table, everybody else watching.
8. 18:00Prize giving & finishPrizes, applause and the traditional argument about stacking. We finish at 18:00 at the latest.

The order is settled, the times in between are not: how many rounds are played, how the tables are drawn up and how long a round lasts all depend on how many people actually take part, and are only settled once registration closes. So far only the 14:00 start and the 18:00 finish are fixed. At most four people play at a table; after each round some drop out and the best go up, until four people sit at the final table and play for the win. We announce the exact tournament plan after the registration deadline, before the day.

⚠️ We count with the normal UNO card values, just the other way round: winning a game does not credit you with everybody else's cards — instead everybody writes down their own leftover cards as minus points. Those add up across all the games in a round, and whoever has the fewest when the time is up wins the round. The exact tournament plan and the final rules of play are drawn up once registration closes and announced before the tournament starts — among the things still open is whether a round lasts 15 or 20 minutes.
